Team A (Razak Mansion C) : Bob, Embi, Jaro, Kimi, Pakcik, Wan and Yot.
Team B (Razak Mansion D) : Badar, Bangkai, Bidin, Matad, Nafi, Omak, Pak Lah and Wafi.
Tok Jinjang FC was sponsored to enter this tournament and asked to send two teams. Our manager was the excellent Amir.
First things first. We were happy for the following reasons...
1. we were sponsored
2. the organizer supplied drinks
3. we had "nasi ayam" for lunch
4. our manager bought more drinks (and cigarrettes?)
The negatives? Quite a few...started quite late (our first game was at 10.30, more than 2 hours after we arrived)...when it finally started, only 6 referees were available, meaning only 3 pitches could be used...after Team A's second game, all play was stopped for the "Opening Ceremony"... of course, we had to sit on the floor in our respective lines and listened to several speeches... and to sing UMNO songs...waduhhhhh....
Because of the late start, they had to change the format...only group champs go thru to next round, instead of top 2...Our last group game was at 5.30 pm!!! Pergh.....From 8.30 am to 5.30 pm just to finish group games...More refs did come after lunch...had they not...pengsan...
One of the earlier refs looked quite familiar...he noticed us and said "Eh..merata engkorang main ek?" oooo...he is one of the refs at Liga Premier NPNG..."Aktif bang."
Okla..on to the results...
Team A first...Team A represented Razak Mansion C...
ok honestly, i didn't know who our opposition was...I do have their team names, but which ones were which? no idea...The other teams in our group were Jalan Melayu C, Wawasan A, Munshi City (Munshi B) and Pulse FC (Ibukota D).
The results...
1st game..
We won 1-0. Goal by Kimi. We wasted many chances in this game. Sigh..wat else is new?
2nd game..
We lost 1-2, despite scoring first, thru Yot. 1st goal we conceded was when Pakcik lost the ball and they beat me at my near post. Dammit..Pakcik said later he was sorry but was confident I could deal with it...wat laaa.....The 2nd goal was even worse. Wan took a freekick and somehow the ball ended up in their possession and then behind me...Wan looked tired. We rely too much on him. Pakcik was also injured when one of them swung real hard to make a clearance and made contact with his foot. One of the refs was our fren, and he said "pergh...fight betul korang".
3rd game..
or wat we tot was our third game. midway into the 2nd half, play was stopped. Apparently, there was some mix-up and we were playing the wrong opponents...wat the...i shud aso mention we were leading 2-1.
Neway, they let us rest for a while before we played the "correct" team. A bunch of kids, nasty kids...i hate playing against budak2 yg ganas ni...tak sedap..Yot in particular seemed edgy..he was involved in a shoving match with one of them and he also "sound" their keeper.."eh..ko diam"...hehe..was it a surprise that Yot handled the ball in my area to give away a penalty? It was converted. They scored again soon after. But we scored 2 (thru Pakcik and Wan) as well in the second half and had the match lasted longer, I was confident we could have won...Bear in mind, we played a "wrong" match before that. Pakcik was also flashed the yellow card for a tackle despite winning the ball cleanly.
4th game..
We won 3-2. Goals scored by Kimi and Pakcik (2).
We finished second in the group.
Team B (Razak Mansion D)
1st game..
Against Wawasan D. We won 2-0. Both goals by Pak Lah.
2nd game..
Against Batu 4 I tink... We won 1-0. Again, Pak Lah was matchwinner.
3rd game..
Against Munshi A..We lost 0-1.
4th game..
Against Chulan B..We lost 0-2.
Finished second in the group as well.
Honestly, I was glad they changed the format to allow only Group Champs to go thru, otherwise we would have left even later. I was so damn bored... Never again..at least for me...
Summary:
Penantian suatu penyeksaan...Performance-wise? ok laa.
Pakcik, Pak Lah : 3 goals Kimi : 2 goals Yot, Wan : 1 goal
Omak : 2 clean sheets
Embi : 1 clean sheet
Hmmm...am I in trouble?
