4th Tournament...Piala Amal Pandan, 18th Mar 2006

Our fourth tournament...Bob and myself were the ones who really wanted to enter this tourney...somehow, we were under the (false) impression that the teams entering this tournament were not "kuat"...hihi....padan muka.. coz syarat nak masuk tourney ni "kene tutup aurat"..heheh..."kalu tutup aurat, tak kuat ler team tu...."

List of Players : Bob, Bidin, Embi, Matad, Pak Lah, Shahril, Wafi and Yus. (Shahril and Yus are "imported players". I knew them from our stint as Arsenal FC Supporters of Malaysia (AFCSM) futsal players...heheh...)

3 teams in a group..top 2 qualify for next round...

1st group game... against Pandan Jaya FC...we were outplayed...silap strategi...We lost 0-2...Wafi did put it in the net, but it was over-ruled for an earlier handball by Yus..they could have scored another 1 as well...open goal....teruk laaa we all....

2nd game...against GMI FC... we lost 0 - 1...again, we did put 1 in...but it didn't count because earlier, the kick-in that preceeded it was not taken correctly....aduishhhh..more on that later...History made. 1st time lost a group game (twice). 1st time failed to progress from group stage. 1st time I failed to keep at least 1 clean sheet in a tournament. 1st time team failed to score, although we had 2 goals disallowed, 1 in each game.

later, when we were leaving, there was an announcement calling for GMI FC and Tok Jinjang FC to have a penalty shoot-out...wat the...rupenye urusetia tu ingat our goal in the 2nd match tu kire...so keputusan seri 1-1...jadi kene ada shoot-out...kesian mamat GMI tu...tp kan..nasib baik it's with Tok Jinjang...Bob and I went to the urusetia..."takde bang...tadi kite kalah...gol tadi tu tak dikire...kitorang dah nak balik dah ni.."

Those GMI kids..."terima kasih bang"...Fair play award anyone? hehehe

Wat to summarize, we sucked..oh ya..we did learn some things
1. kalu tourney cam ni..amik 6/7 org jer pun takper...byk sgt sub kelam kabut (altho the main reason i brought a full squad is to keep the costs per player down..Entry Fee RM160 woooo)
2.kalu nak amik import..amik defender laa..Tok Jinjang forward ramai...
3.if ur best players not available...jgn masuk tourney
4.the pitches at sp ampang seem to be smaller than those at sp sunway..betul kaa?

Liga Premier NPNG, 5th game, 15th Mar 2006

Tok Jinjang FC 7 - 6 Balitongs....Exciting game. Led 3-2 at half-time, but in the second half they scored 4 goals to make it 3-6.Somehow, we managed to stage an amazing comeback to win the game. Scorers were Wan, Pakcik (4) and Yot (2). Despite the win, there is still a lot of room for improvement.

Liga Premier NPNG, 4th game, 8th Mar 2006

Met Rojak FC..Result?? 5-5. Should have won this game, since we were leading 3-1 at halftime. I was still performing below par, and the team's normal fluid passing is still missing. Changes have to be made if the team hoped to salvage anything from this season.Scorers were Pakcik, Wan (2) and Bidin (2).

Liga Premier NPNG, 3rd game, 1st Mar 2006

Up against the best side in the league, MIC Subang...Result? 1 - 9 Worst performance ever. With a scoreline like that, the goalkeeper would normally be blamed. My performance was indeed bad, a pale shadow of my normal self. Yot mentioned I looked "pucat" and was quiet most of the time. A far cry from the previous week's heroics that even had the opposition applauding me. hehehe...Be fair laaa, not all 9 goals my fault. Not like I didn't make a single save. Everyone played badly. Half-time, 1-3. Pakcik scored the consolation goal to make it 1-2, but there was no coming back.

3rd Tournament...Karnival Sukan Ansara 2006, 25th Feb 2006

On to our 3rd tournament...

List of Players : Badar, Bob, Bidin, Embi, Kimi, Pakcik and Yot.

This carnival had other sports, like netball, basketball, volleyball and touch rugby. The version of futsal that was held was called "Futsal Padang". hmmm...Mebbe sounds better then "bolasepak 5-sebelah". We represented MRSM Muar.

Bloody hell, so many things were not right. First of all, the organizers had some poor ATMA students becoming match officials and what a mess it was. They didn't know the rules (bola kalu keeper pegang lebih dari 4 saat, penalti!) I remember someone scoring directly from a kick-in and the poor guy tot for a moment and blew for a goal...he waved the protests away until some other guy came in and said the goal does not stand...when the ball goes out, this particular guy blew and pointed to the spot where the kick-in shud be taken, but he nvr signalled which team got the kick-in..haiya...then wat about that one time when 1 ref said it was our ball while the other said it was theirs...excuse me....doesn't the 1st ref override the 2nd?

and because the refs are just students, they're not really strict. one time, this guy blew for a foul but the players either didn't hear or didn't care and kept playing...poor guy...he blew again and gave up when play still didn't stop...kudos to them though, for keeping their cool despite being given a hard time by the players.

neway, on to the results..only 12 teams took part, including 2 for the veteran category but they were asked to compete in the open category...not enuff teams laaa...aisehmen..12 teams, 4 groups, group champs go into semis...

1st group game. We beat Qber (Kuala Berang) 2-0.
Scorers were Kimi and Yot.

2nd group game. We beat Serting United (Serting) 4-1.
Scorers were Yot, Bidin and Kimi (2).
Finished as Group Champions.

Semis..we met this veteran team, Junjong Boys from Kulim. We beat them 5-1. One of them quite robust ooooo...nak lawan kang org kata tak hormat org tua...anyway, we were lucky as the game ended 1-1 at the end of normal time, as they came close many times, including hitting the post twice.The other 4 goals were scored in the second period of extra-time. Scorers were Pakcik (2), Yot, Badar and Bob. I'm almost sure the extra time lasted longer than the actual match.

On to the final then...against Back Islanders who of course represented Balik Pulau. But their goalkeeper was our junior..Doesn't matter..Yot was from Balik Pulau...We lost 2 - 3 after extra time. The first goal that was scored by them is the worst ever conceded by Tok Jinjang. Everyone on the field was at fault. The ball didn't touch any of our players. Came back to lead 2-1 but a defensive error allowed them to equalize. Finished 2-2 at full time. We almost won but an effort hit the post.They scored the winner in extra time, and we were unable to come back again. Scorers were Pakcik and Yot.

So ended our dream. Hehehe..Bidin mentioned I looked really down...hmmm..mebbe...

There were only the 3 of us left for the prize-giving ceremony. Can't believe they made everyone sing the MRSM song first. Cudn't remember the lyrics!!! luckily this guy was passing them out.

"Kenapa Tok Jinjang? Datang dari Jinjang ker?" the guy asked as we received our prize.

Up to that point, I thought the worst was over...damn hot day, damn hungry, damn tired...Bob said he got sun-burn...but in the car, we were in for a big shock...I was in the back seat when I called out the other team, the champions, and the goalkeeper came up to us and asked "apa yg korang dpt?" Bob was opening the package and he said "mcm kaset".."MEMANG KASET!!!!" wat the .....

7 "Suara Merdeka" cassettes, full of patriotic songs like Negaraku (2 versions), Putera-Puteri, Bahtera Merdeka, Perwira and others...c'mon laaaaaaaaaaaaa....

how low can u go? i don't even have a blasted cassette player...Ansara!!! ur standard shud be pewter medals laaa...how to continue supporting u like this??? cis....

Summary:

We were so damn unlucky not to win our first tournament.

Yot : 4 goals Kimi, Pakcik : 3 goals Badar, Bidin, Bob : 1 goal (everyone scored, except Embi of coz..)

Embi : 1 clean sheet.

Liga Premier NPNG, 2nd game, 22nd Feb 2006

Our 2nd game was against Dentum FC.

Exciting match, dramatic, tempers flaring. Led 1-0 at half time. Team showed great character to come back from 1-2 down to lead 4-2. It finished 4-3.
Scorers were Pakcik (2), Wan and Yot. Great win. Personally, I had a great match, even the ACR players outside were applauding me..i tink...hehehe

Liga Premier NPNG, 1st game, 15th Feb 2006

Our first foray into a proper league. NPNG really is a great venue...very cosy...

Our first league game was against ACR 2...

Before the start of the game, the referee asked if there were any questions...and he looked at us....not ACR 2... because "ACR ni dah biasa..setiap bulan jugak main"...aiyo...without discussing it, we all became stupid. Pakcik even asked the referee whether the goalie can catch the ball from a kick-in...we were actually stalling because our best defender Wan hasn't arrived yet..and ACR 2 took the bait, they really did under-estimate us. We led 2-0 before they woke up. We also led 3-2 but defensive and goalkeeping errors meant 1 point only. It finished 3-3. At that time, we thought it was a great result, considering we were against more experienced futsallers, but as the weeks went by, ACR 2 lost all their early matches. hmmmm...Neways, our first goal was scored by them, while our scorers Pakcik and Yot.

2nd Tournament...Liga Futsal Anjuran UMNO Bahagian Hulu Langat, 12th Feb 2006

On to our second tournament. Wat a mouthful.

Tourney: Liga Futsal Anjuran UMNO Bahagian Hulu Langat
Date: 12th Feb 2006
Venue: Kicksports, Taman Jasmin, Kajang

List of Players: Badar, Bob, Embi, Kimi, Pakcik, Popai, Wafi, Wan and Yot.

Tok Jinjang FC represented the Taman Rakan branch in this tournament. Our manager was Adi.

4 teams in a group. Top 2 teams enter 2nd round.

1st group game was against Kg Jawa. Finished 2-2. Scorers were Pakcik and Badar.

2nd group game was against Taman Delima FC. We won 3-0, thanks to a hattrick by Pakcik.

3rd group game was against Beranang FC. We won 2-0. Scorers were Popai and Bob. We finished second in the group behind Kg. Jawa because of goal difference.

After that we were told our 2nd round game would be at 3.30 pm which gives us plenty of time for lunch and Zuhur prayers. Wan too had time to go see his wife who was unwell. However, while we were having lunch at around 2 pm, we received a call telling us our next game was at 2.30 pm. Wat laaa..the reason being, there were a lot of pullouts/walkovers... C'mon laa...postponing games are normal but this...aiyo...we quickly finished lunch and went for prayers and made it..meanwhile we called Wan to tell him not to come back yet, pending the result of our 2nd round game. We didn't want him to rush.
We lost the 2nd round game against Sg. Kembong, 1-2. Pakcik scored our goal. Wan's absence was really felt. One of the referees in this game said I played well, like that was any consolation. "Keeper bagus laaaa"..."Tapi kalah juger bang" was my reply.

Summary:

We under achieved in this tournament. Our loss was due to one mistake, a miscommunication between last man Popai and me, the goalie. So it was very disappointing.

First Tournament...Syoknya Futsal 2, 5th Feb 2006

So here goes... a review of the first tournament Tok Jinjang entered...

Date: 5th Feb 2006
Venue: Sportsplanet Sunway

List of Players: Badar, Bob, Embi, Kimi, Pakcik, Pak Lah, Popai, Wafi and Wan.
That's 9 players although i think only 8 were required. heheh...

I heard there were 96 teams in the tournament, not including the U-18 category. 3 teams in a group, top 2 go through to 2nd round.

1st group game was against Edar FC. Wan conceded a penalty because of handball, duly converted. Wan made amends though by scoring the equalizer with a trademark powerful shot.

2nd group game was against Visual Point. Finished 0-0. Modesty forbids me to say it, but I played well in this game...heheh..they did come close a few times..i remember them hitting the inside of the post....and actually putting it past me once...but it was disallowed...dunno why....anyway, all 3 teams finished equal on points, but Visual Point was eliminated because they failed to score in both matches. We won the coin toss to become group champions. woohooooo...wat a surprise...

2nd round...up against MPPJ 'A'..wat the...MPPJ??? 'A' team some more..we were intimidated, to say the least. We won though, 2-1. Our scorers were Pak Lah and Kimi..Wat a dream run..we're into the 3rd round...

3rd round..c'mon laa..this is 2 rounds further then we thought we wud go...surely this would be it. Against Gombak Otai...we won again...2-0, much easier then expected. Scorers were Bob and Wafi.

4th round..against Bursa Malaysia...we weren't ready..there we were..sitting outside watching the previous game..with our shoes still off...and suddenly this guy came up and said "Tok Jinjang kan? masuk laa..main skang"..dammit....we lost..1-3..Pak Lah scored the 1st goal of the match, but Bursa came back strongly...the end of the road...



Summary:
To finish in the last 16 out of 96 teams is not bad, methinks, esp considering this was our first tournament. Paying RM20 each to play 5 games and getting a Figos jersey is well worth it. 1 win away from getting a prize...sigh...mebbe next time...

Finally

Finally able to start this blog...Where else to put the results and watever things related to Tok Jinjang FC? Thought the gofutsal website (www.gofutsal.com) was gud enuff, esp. for the results, but i only found out recently that there is a limit to how many results you can add to the scoreboard before it starts deleting the earlier ones...heheh
