On to our 3rd tournament...

Tourney : Karnival Sukan Ansara 2006

Venue : Akademi Tentera Malaysia, Kem Sungei Besi

Date : 25th Feb 2006

List of Players : Badar, Bob, Bidin, Embi, Kimi, Pakcik and Yot.

This carnival had other sports, like netball, basketball, volleyball and touch rugby. The version of futsal that was held was called "Futsal Padang". hmmm...Mebbe sounds better then "bolasepak 5-sebelah". We represented MRSM Muar.

Bloody hell, so many things were not right. First of all, the organizers had some poor ATMA students becoming match officials and what a mess it was. They didn't know the rules (bola kalu keeper pegang lebih dari 4 saat, penalti!) I remember someone scoring directly from a kick-in and the poor guy tot for a moment and blew for a goal...he waved the protests away until some other guy came in and said the goal does not stand...when the ball goes out, this particular guy blew and pointed to the spot where the kick-in shud be taken, but he nvr signalled which team got the kick-in..haiya...then wat about that one time when 1 ref said it was our ball while the other said it was theirs...excuse me....doesn't the 1st ref override the 2nd?

and because the refs are just students, they're not really strict. one time, this guy blew for a foul but the players either didn't hear or didn't care and kept playing...poor guy...he blew again and gave up when play still didn't stop...kudos to them though, for keeping their cool despite being given a hard time by the players.

neway, on to the results..only 12 teams took part, including 2 for the veteran category but they were asked to compete in the open category...not enuff teams laaa...aisehmen..12 teams, 4 groups, group champs go into semis...

1st group game. We beat Qber (Kuala Berang) 2-0.
Scorers were Kimi and Yot.

2nd group game. We beat Serting United (Serting) 4-1.
Scorers were Yot, Bidin and Kimi (2).
Finished as Group Champions.

Semis..we met this veteran team, Junjong Boys from Kulim. We beat them 5-1. One of them quite robust ooooo...nak lawan kang org kata tak hormat org tua...anyway, we were lucky as the game ended 1-1 at the end of normal time, as they came close many times, including hitting the post twice.The other 4 goals were scored in the second period of extra-time. Scorers were Pakcik (2), Yot, Badar and Bob. I'm almost sure the extra time lasted longer than the actual match.

On to the final then...against Back Islanders who of course represented Balik Pulau. But their goalkeeper was our junior..Doesn't matter..Yot was from Balik Pulau...We lost 2 - 3 after extra time. The first goal that was scored by them is the worst ever conceded by Tok Jinjang. Everyone on the field was at fault. The ball didn't touch any of our players. Came back to lead 2-1 but a defensive error allowed them to equalize. Finished 2-2 at full time. We almost won but an effort hit the post.They scored the winner in extra time, and we were unable to come back again. Scorers were Pakcik and Yot.

So ended our dream. Hehehe..Bidin mentioned I looked really down...hmmm..mebbe...

There were only the 3 of us left for the prize-giving ceremony. Can't believe they made everyone sing the MRSM song first. Cudn't remember the lyrics!!! luckily this guy was passing them out.

"Kenapa Tok Jinjang? Datang dari Jinjang ker?" the guy asked as we received our prize.

Up to that point, I thought the worst was over...damn hot day, damn hungry, damn tired...Bob said he got sun-burn...but in the car, we were in for a big shock...I was in the back seat when I called out the other team, the champions, and the goalkeeper came up to us and asked "apa yg korang dpt?" Bob was opening the package and he said "mcm kaset".."MEMANG KASET!!!!" wat the .....

7 "Suara Merdeka" cassettes, full of patriotic songs like Negaraku (2 versions), Putera-Puteri, Bahtera Merdeka, Perwira and others...c'mon laaaaaaaaaaaaa....

how low can u go? i don't even have a blasted cassette player...Ansara!!! ur standard shud be pewter medals laaa...how to continue supporting u like this??? cis....

Summary:

We were so damn unlucky not to win our first tournament.

Yot : 4 goals Kimi, Pakcik : 3 goals Badar, Bidin, Bob : 1 goal (everyone scored, except Embi of coz..)

Embi : 1 clean sheet.
